STORIES BEYOND LANGUAGE

Translation & Editorial Policy

QiaoInk uses AI-assisted translation as part of an editorial workflow. The goal is readable English that remains faithful to the original work.

Keep the story's identity

Preserve the author's voice, plot, characters, relationships, cultural context and intent. Names, honorifics and recurring terms should follow the work's glossary and editorial guidance. We avoid unnecessary Westernization and do not treat a translation as permission to rewrite the story.

Review before publication

The workflow being prepared is: authorized source, translation draft, comparison and quality checks, human editorial review, then a stored English edition approved for publication. Automated checks can identify possible problems; they cannot establish that a translation is accurate on their own.

Editors compare the original and English for missing passages, invented details, contradictions, inconsistent names or terms, untranslated text and formatting problems. Questions that need the author's input should be raised rather than answered by invention.

Continuity across chapters

A work's Style Bible, terminology glossary and reviewed continuity notes guide subsequent chapters. Calibration begins with one separately authorized chapter before considering additional chapters. Live provider spending requires separate approval. Original-language text remains distinct from the English edition.

Stored editions

Readers receive stored chapters. Opening a chapter should not generate a fresh translation. Editorial revisions are recorded in version history. Editing or restoring a draft requires review of that saved revision before publication.

Corrections

A reviewed translation can still contain errors. Readers and rightsholders can identify passages needing attention through the contact route. We make no guarantee of error-free translation or a fixed correction turnaround.
