Author & Rights Policy
Your story remains yours. Authors retain copyright and ownership of their works. Permission for QiaoInk to use a work is distinct from transferring ownership.
Permission before publication or translation
QiaoInk's standard is to host and translate works only with appropriate author or rightsholder permission, or under a compatible open license or public-domain basis that permits the intended use. A free-to-read page, downloadable file or third-party listing is not proof of permission.
Hosting an original, preparing an English translation, editing it and distributing the translated edition are distinct uses. The authorization for each work must cover the uses QiaoInk actually undertakes, including any commercial use, language, territory and time limits that apply.
Work-specific authorization records
Authorization must identify the individual work and the uses permitted by its rightsholder. Permission for one work does not extend to an author's other works. Original evidence and the reviewed scope should be preserved with appropriate access restrictions; the reader-facing catalog is not a place to publish private correspondence.
Agreements involving minors
An author account is not a substitute for legal capacity to authorize a work or enter a payout agreement. For minors, parental or guardian involvement and any other applicable legal requirements must be satisfied before entering an author, licensing or payout agreement.
Qualifying revenue and author support
Authors may accrue their agreed share of qualifying revenue before payout setup is complete. Publication permission and banking setup are separate. No royalty percentage, revenue basis, payout fee or payment provider is specified here. Direct author support is a separate planned feature, not automatically part of the reading-revenue share or a purchase of reading access.
Credits are non-expiring, and legitimately unlocked reading access is intended to remain with the reader's account. Work agreements and operating procedures must address how that commitment is honored if rights later end; these pages do not invent rights that the author has not granted.
Existing agreements matter
Authors and rightsholders should identify publisher contracts, platform exclusivity, coauthors, adapted material and other restrictions before authorizing QiaoInk. An author account or successful work claim identifies a relationship; it does not erase another party's rights.
Clear attribution and editions
Keep the original author and work identified. A translated edition should be distinguishable from the original-language edition. Cover artwork and other supplied assets also need an appropriate rights basis; permission to translate prose does not automatically cover unrelated artwork.
Questions and concerns
If you believe a work or asset is being used without appropriate permission, see Contact / Rights Inquiries for the information useful to a review. QiaoInk does not claim that a takedown request is a substitute for obtaining permission before publication.
